    Bidi:

    what about Cabo 18th's green?

Easy...just birdied it in a 18 hole RG.

Let's just forget about all the bogies though;)

    Oldstir:

I even use an extra club with Wind help on BP15 but it still always comes up short.  So apparently the 'secret' for BP15 is to hit 2 or even 3 clubs more just to hit the green?

Don't forget the green is at least 36 feet above where you play from so you need to allow a minimum of an extra 12 yards when working out your shot.  For the low left pin position try to land left of the pin, usually the ball will run past and to the right, then roll down and leave a fairly straight uphill putt.  If you're very lucky it'll stop very close to the hole although a 1.5 footer across that slope sure isn't a gimmie.  I find that pin a bit easier than the top right one though.

Surprisingly my best ever round, discounting unlimited play qualifiers from the ladies tees, was at BPB, a 14 under from TM tees in a CC tourney.  I love the course, probably my favourite of all.

    SgtDoodles:

We're not talking about the lady tees, when you make Legend you will understand.

Well then why not just answer My Topic question Yes or No instead of making a rude antagonistic remark like that.  And BTW, if when i make Legend, I won't play You just because of how sarcastic your reply was. :)  I could probably beat you easily just as a TM anyway but still won't play you in the future because you reap what you sew.  Next time stick to the "topic" instead of talking about something else which suits You?  If you want to talk about how tough #17 STA is for Legends, then Start Your Own Topic and stop making sarcastic remarks on other members's topics, please and thank you. :)

Hi MainzMan and also for  Cleworthy.  Well BP15 just gets to be a more interesting dilemma. :)  I just payed that hole again and here's what happened:

I drove within 186 yards with a partial 7 wind.  Then I decided to get bold and hit my 210 - 3 iron instead the 197 - 4 iron which normally would have fallen way short.  Well the darn ball landed In the bunker before the pin but skipped right out of the bunker and over-shot the back of the green.  Then I was left with a 25-yd Flop in 30-40% rough back down the hill toward the hole.  So I hit only a full 19 flop with full backspin and went passed the hole 8.8 yds.  Almost parred it from there below the hole but didn't put mch effort into it because of how ridiculous the 3 iron reacted.  Because when you hit into a Bunker way Uphill, it should darn well stay there which it what i expected would happen.

Now I could understand the ball skipping out of a bunker Downhill especially with the speed of a 3 iron but Uphill?  NO WAY!  And definitely not also speeding through and off the back of the entire green. :)  That's a joke.

So guess what?  We're back to Square One.  One more club will always be too short and NOW I saw that 2 clubs will always be too long.  Rock and a Hard place. :)  I think it's a programming glitch and would guess that less than 5% of all members Ever par that hole except for Legends?

But I've seen plenty of glitches when balls don't get stuck in bunkers when they should and I even saw on #2 OAK when someone's drive landed DEAD CENTER in the gully of those Weeds on the left and pop back out onto the fairway for really nice drive.  Ya Right.  Can you say: ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE? ;)

So definitely BP15 gets my vote for NON-LEGEND hardest hole to par.  And BETH is also Hands Down, the hardest Course to play bogey-free and therefore not worth the Time invested IMO.  But all the courses are great and fun to play if only they could fix the seemingly Impossible Programming Problems with the METER.  Does it really take a team of 100 genius programmers to fix the Meter or is it just being ignored on purpose to make more money on lost balls?  Please give "us" a break WGT?  If you can't or won't fix the meter Once And For All, couldn't you at least give us Unlimited Free WGT Balls to compensate?  At least the Rich can afford the Calloways and all the other Equipment but I can't even afford my WGT balls anymore which I think is really unfair for the low income elderly.  Which reminds me; I better go check my Wall for any more possible death threats. :)  Have a good one everyone and I'm still looking for a like-minded Partner for Foursomes.  BTW, are there any Tournaments just for Partners to play against other partners?

With my G10's and at that distance and wind, I would use full BS 4 iron (200), way to the left side of the green, do not try to shoot at the flag stick...just pretend the stick is in the front left of the green and about 3 yards in or so..well left of the bunker.

Ball should land just on green/fringe and go up the hill about 15-20 feet and curl to the right, then trickle back down to the hole.

I'll stick with what I said earlier - calculate 10-15 yards more including full back spin effect, shoot for the middle of the hill and left behind the hole.  So at 186 yds, with 7 mph slight hurt wind, I would hit my 205 yard club (4I) with full or 3/4 back spin.  But perhaps with your club and ball combo it is still not possible...  I use the Burner 2.0s and Callaway balls.  Happy hitting.  C

Thanks MB, good advice and so even if the wind is right to left, then still don't worry about landing too far left?  But come down on the power a bit too?  And also adjust a little aim to the right to compensate for a wind which could blow it too far left?

    Oldstir:

Well familiar with your frustration on #17, Mes but I finally learned the secret to parring it most of the time now and even getting several birdies there.  You simply always keep your Aimer to the right of the bunker mound and play "that" yardage because the ball will Always go right to left toward the pin anyway once it hits the green.  If you hadn't thought of that yet, that is?  So, once youhave your weight down, you'll be parring 17 much more often.  Hope that helps? :)

Having the aimer to the right does not always work lol. I was just saying it was the "Hardest One" to me, even now but belive its mostly in my head. Since posting that I have played that hole 4 times. Pared 3, birdied one. But my point is the layup to the hole is challanging especially with a 20+MPH wind and a hard green. The bunker to the left of the hole adds enough to make it a harder hole to me.

BTW I think you may have been a bit harsh on SgtDoodle's "Lady Tees" comment. It is a regular joke among Legends and really if a Legend is talking about a tough hole he or she is talking about from champion tees.

    Mes.

Not really most difficult to par, but what's going on with the new pin at Oak 5.

I just turned down a go at a birdie to save par. The slopes real close in are a nightmare.

Oakmont #9. I think I birdied it 3 times. 2 pitch's from the traps in front and one time I went for the pin because my score was so bad it didn't mater if I got another 7. LOL  It landed in the rough in front of the green a trickled on the green to within a foot of the pin. What you would call your basic dumb luck shot.
