penalty for quitting game

  i have been on for around 2hrs and have not completed one game due to quittersprotecting their precious score average.

  can you introduce a system to add one full point to score avg . 3 points and then  5 in the same day  for repeat offenders to weed out the quitters

  WINNERS NEVER QUIT & QUITTERS NEVER WIN

  this is for the quitters out there .. YOU ARE ONLY CHEATING YOURSELF

  BUT ROBBING PEOPLE OF PLEASURE

  QUITTERS??  GET REAL.  the new i-net is so weird i hardly ever complete a game.  it is constantly re-loading itself, logging me out, making gameplay nearly impossible.  Last night I was on for 2 hours and could not do more than 3 holes before the i-net logged me out after 4 attempts, i logged out.

  Myself, i consider quitting the game because even when i get the the perfect teeing off swing, with a 225 yard driver and a north / south tailwind of 21 mph, the ball still goes 45 degrees away from where i am aiming, takes an east / west trajectory and falls 60 - 70 yards short. (St. Andrews, hole 10, i only was given 150 yards on such a swing and the ball went to the far left and did not make the fairway, it was in the rough).  Of course I would quit to clear cookies, its not a good load & needs 2b reloaded.  The game is always freezing up and it is not that good of a game.

  Ummm - quitting won't make any difference to yr score unless you've just gone up a tier.

  By quitting I gather you mean forfeiting or disconnecting. I see most players leaving with a disconnect - which is irritating. But I believe most players disconnect due to internet/wgt problems - not because they are trying to protect their handicap. Some people give up after the game has been interrupted several times - I don't blame them. Some give up because of  meter fast/slow or shot lag problems. Again - I can sympathise.

  Also people disconnect or forfeit because of whats going on in their house. I certainly do. I've got kids and a missus and there's always 'emergencies' going on. I figure reality is more important than a computer game. But I always say so before I forfeit and wish the remaining players luck.

  I'm getting sick of players who whinge about quitters.

  I don't think anybody minds if a player suggests to drop the game, or if they forfeit the game, but....it is when they just quit and you are left there waiting for for 2 1/2 minutes (or longer if WGT changes it again.

  So, for quitters, just forfeit the game or suggest the match be dropped. It is that simple.

  I tried played 2 rounds on April 22 2013, both rounds were drop ,the game stopped and said please close browser i was gold when his happened   i came back to play a round on monday i was tagged ORANGE! this was not dew to me dropping the round  ,WGT's the one that said close all browsers, as of today  April 22nd 2013  i do not intend to play another round on this site ,when player start to drop off this site maybe wgt will do something about this crazy  ***, untl they give me my green light back or do away with this crazy *** of waiting 2 minutes for a player to quit ,i'll be spending my time on a real golf course!

  Come on, take a deep breath and put this into perspective. Yes occasionally we all have connection issues but perhaps this is your end? Your percentage light will not change unless you quit or drop out your end, not if the other person fails to finish.

  And two and a half minutes, is this really such a pain that it will make you give up? Of course not.

  You have 320 friends and the OP has over 130 and neither of you can put together a group of friends who will not quit? If that's the case I would radically cull my list. If you play with randoms there is often the chance you will run into a quitter - so be smart, not whine to the forums when you could prevent 99% of it happening.

  I rarely quit but sometimes do. I always forfeit and don't feign disconnect - if I disconnect it is genuine.

  A good example is on Kiawah a week on so ago - back 9, I got a massive meter jump on first shot and landed in the sand. I hit 2 more shots and was still in the sand. I was seriously stuck.

  The only way I could get out would be to play it backwards. I seriously would have been +4 just on the first hole which is just ridiculous!

  It really would help if WGT made the FORFEIT button available at all times, rather than just when its your shot.

  And 2 1/2 minutes is a pain.

  I have played at least 25 multi-player games with no disconnects or forfeits, and my status will not change.

  Short of an emergency there is NO excuse to quit a multi player game, none! If I play multi player I only accept a green light, and seldom seen a problem! Sadly I can't see adding a shot on to an average score as helping as quitters are probably sandbaggers to.............When I go that extreme I mean the one's that just x out, but IF you start a multi game you should finish no matter what anyway!

  I quit once because my daughter called in and needed picking up quickly.  I quickly explained to all, exited at my turn and all good - easy stuff!
