    ApexPC:

Are you willing to cough up what it costs to add a course?

We do in Balls, Clubs, Avatars, Bags, Boosts, etc......... When you pay as much for balls here as you can get in real life they are making the money.

When I first start there was only a few courses....  I think, St.A was only the front nine...

How many courses do we want.... 20.....   100

Now we have heaps of cousres to play.... and more with ctth's....    If ya's don't like what Wgt has... Then Leave

Roger, I have to disagree. WGT has improved big time since I first stumbled into it years ago - at that stage it was only CTTH. Then I took a break for a couple of years before once again stumbling across it. As you say, a lot of stroke play courses have been added, however if WGT want to continue to grow, more courses need to be added. As Andysons graph shows, numbers appear to be diminishing. This means established players are leaving or playing a lot less (possibly as a result of becoming bored of the same courses) or new players are not staying or a combination of the two.

An essential part of any business plan is growth in the medium to longer term. This is why I think WGT should commit to a plan to develop at least two courses for at least the next two or three years.

WGT have produced a great game, but sadly if it stagnates it will lose more customers. Its all well and good developing more equipment but at the end of the day, the customers are wanting more courses. If WGT can keep its existing client base and lure new customers and retain them, then the game will continue to prosper, And from my eyes, a better portfolio of courses would be its drawcard.

The final thing I will say in reply, is take any company with a good product - do they just then sit back and say, well thats it, we did it, and never try to enhance it? Of course not because sure enough they would be yesterdays news with no prospect of a bright future.

No doubt with what you say Alanti....  I agree.

Don't get me wrong with what i said...  but where does it stop though....  lol

If we have the option of playing 100 courses..... they will be somebody that will say we need more... poeple get bored of playing the same course all the time , I'm sure...

No reflection to the Op, but where does it stop.

I'm just short of Level 99 and I still enjoy the game as it is(apart from a quite a few dud scores...lol)

Friends from all over the world....  playing at the same time....   That is the game I enjoy mostly and not the amount of courses :)

I am in total agreement there, where would it stop. IMO WGT would or should have a model that shows x amount of courses = x amount of dollars/players. At some point it would have a saturation point whereby adding new courses would not bring in new revenue. Bearing in mind the cost of producing a course is expensive, WGT must have some model that they follow.

I too still love playing the game, especially with the friendships that you form with others from all over the world. But at some point a player will stop or play less if there is no variation, I am lucky, as I am still crap at this game, so I am still learning the courses :)

+1 lol....just when I think I have it all figured out, boom, reality kicks in and I don't mind it at all.  One of the great things about WGT is that it isn't too easy, but at the same time it isn't too difficult.

    goldeena:

I too am a growth advocate and there doesn't necessarily have to be a 'stop' does there, but I wanted to talk about how the design team have probably evolved the unique skills that go in to creating these courses (is there anybody else in any other engineering/ graphics application that applies these methods....), over coffee these are some areas I can think of, how about you??

1 - Ever increasing resolution of the HD images - pixels are always on the rise with time and what was cutting space age technology 5 years ago should now be in the shops for purchase.

2 - Increasing the number of shots such that re-flagging the greens does not result in the car crash that happened when they tried it on Kiawah (I wonder if they take that in to consideration now, maybe even more than twice....3, 4  different hole locations covered??

3 - Perhaps some side views might be nice from the point of view of immersing the player with those camera angles available as an in-game option, and how about the possibility of some sophisticated interpolation program to pan around the fairways in real time (as in tiger woods playstation game), that would surely represent a huge challenge but if they could crack it then they'd truly rule the world.

4 - Additional effects, post processing to create convincing rain (I'd love there to be rain :-) or even fog and what about a serious venture in to the world of sound effects - 'gusting' wind sounds springs to mind as 1 possible cue to help the player tackle them, then there's lions tigers and bears OH MYYYY!!!

Those are just a few ideas that spring to mind over this cup of joe, I wonder what else you might come up with - I'm sure any suggestions would be appreciated by the team.

    A pony .... having been requested for years ... ! :-)

we will find out about Muirfield at the same time.

    Don't call me Nostradamus.....but I think Muirfield's a no go.......and this isn't a bad reflection on WGT.

Just the folks running Muirfield are so far up their own ar$es.

Ronnie Corbett......one of the UK's best loved and well known straight comedy entertainers for 50 years actually has a house adjoining one of Muifield's greens and they turned him down for membership years ago :)

Plus I detest their "no women members rule"....in this day and age it's just totally wrong and not acceptable IMHO.

I'm hoping Chadders can pull this one out the hat because Muirfield is such a great course.....but I won't be squealing if it's not managed.

But if not Muirfield.....which in all probability will have been knocked back many months ago.....surely there was time for an alternative course?

Wait till this game comes out...and it sounds like it has a course architect also.
