As this game resembles real golf in many ways Tough to start, better with practice, clubs and balls need to be improved or replaced for better play, I suggested to WGT that when losing premium balls a few times, we might decide to use only free basic balls. Also some "risky" shots over water etc may not be attempted ? This would cost WGT money by less purchase of premium balls

So why not like in real golf allow us to purchase a "ball retriever " ?

I am sure WGT could calculate how much it would cost and perhaps have a limited life         ( I.e. number of balls retrieved)

It would be cool to retrieve a ball from water hazard (or even dreaded brush !)

If priced correctly (try with a limited beta trial?) it could be then rolled out, and maybe save money for members if they purchase premium balls ( say those over 450 credits or so)

In particular, it could be linked to Country Clubs, at a certain level so that CC points have a real benefit after the early entry of putterpal and shotpal which seem to come very low down.

    What do others think?

I like it. Makes a lot of sense and might keep those that are sick of losing premium balls to hesitate going back to the basic freebie.

Country Club bonuses are a great way to keep people in the game as well. Agreed this would be another added bonus many would appreciate.

Beta testing would be a fine way to validate its existence...a ball retriever, lol, who would have guessed what a commodity that could be.

We are the mugs to keep buying these balls.  We are spending more than real world balls.  In an admittedly selfish act to save on ball could I appeal to WGT to reduce the price of balls.  If they reduced the prices by 25% which made the game more affordable and increased ball purchase by 30% they would increase overall profits.  For a free game it's way to expensive and I think this is reflected by the fall in the games regular players.  I left for 2 years until Christmas just gone.  When I left any time night our day and an alternate game took two minutes to fill up.  Now, at times, you wait 5 minutes and sometimes you leave the lobby because game just wont fill up.  WGT you made the game too expensive.  America might have left the recession but the vast majority of the rest of the world hasn't,  make the game financially more competitive.

The idea that ball purchase might increase by 30% if ball prices were reduced by 25% is at best optimistic speculation I'd say. I don't think there's anything except wishful thinking to support those figures and WGT would need a lot more than that to make the leap.

As you go on to say, it's a free game and can be played at no cost for life with the clubs and balls that are supplied when you join. But of course for the vast majority of players progressing and challenging is important enough to make upgrades necessary, me included.

I agree that for what we get this game is relatively inexpensive and WGT do provide opportunities to earn credits as well which helps mitigate the cost of purchases. That doesn't mean that there aren't many players who don't feel they can afford to upgrade as much or as frequently as they would like to or some who simply resent the need to.

But WGT is first and foremost a business, and they are only going to be looking at ways to increase revenue with as little speculation as possible.

I have solved the ball durability problem couple years ago.

I use priceless balls, they never wear  out and never get lost.

meter speed is totally irrelevant as no matter where i seem to click the game decides where it will put the ball most times...lol......

i have ding'ed lots of shots only to see them veer left or right....about onl6 50% of my shot actually go anywhere near where i am....lol

i suspect mostly down to the wind only seeming to work on 1/2 the holes i play one...i;'ve had 19-22 winds no moving the ball at all and 14-16 wind moving the ball from 1 side of the fairway to the other...extremely realistic ...:p

so nothing but the plain starter balls for me as no point buying anything different...

I hear you Anderson... That is funny bud lol n1

On a side note........ I have been playing with Nike level 61 $500c for a long time now and...

Wait for it............. I have Never Ever got 120 shots per ball... Maybe it is based on an average of every single player on here who uses that ball? I don`t know..!

I have wrote to WGT several times regarding durability, Balls taken out of play etc etc boring..

I have received 3 balls back in total after all the hassle and aggravation I have had in trying to explain my issues..

A friend of mine actually kept a record of my strokes with him over 3 days of only playing one another, No other games shots were played in that time..

My average life span of my Nike balls where........................... 87 strokes!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is absolutely ridiculous WGT, I told them that and am still waiting lol

One particular ball lasted 63 strokes??? Unreal..!

I spend quite a bit of money on this game and all I ask for is fairness, So please WGT get it sorted guys..!
