The still shot is bad; the video is damning.

Wow, seems conclusive to me...but one has to wonder if the still shot was doctored some, I don't think he'd have used a colored substance that would be so easy to spot.

Odd the only one who reported it was a Cardinal minor league pitching prospect.  None of the Cardinal players or coaches complained, none of the 6 umpires on the field noticed it, no one in the video truck spotted it, or the people in the broadcast booth.  Heck ya think ex-Cardinal catcher Tim (Gasbag) McCarver would have been all over it?

Here's the view of a Boston Globe writer.

Heh, so it's OK to ignore Rule 8.02 because some obviously slanted writer thinks it's archaic? LOL. Yes, rosin has been around as long as baseball-it's that little white (never seen green) bag you see lying on the back of the mound. It's dry, so why is it sticking to the glove? When pitchers want some rosin they pick up the bag, they don't go to their glove.

Lester's too good to have to resort to antics but there's a case. Gaylord Perry is having a good laugh.  :-D

Apparently the Cardinals are ignoring 8.02 also.

The Cardinals, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, were unconcerned.

"As far as I'm concerned it's a non-issue," said Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak in a statement to the newspaper. "It's something that arose in social media and not from our players or manager or our coaching staff. To me it does not represent a concern."

    You Sox-hater you!  ;-) LOL
