Props to the sox, well deserved....
as far as the stuff on the glove goes...I pitched in HS and small college and any decent pitching coach in junior ball will have already taught you that if you want it to sink get some sweat on your fingers for less spin and throw a 2 seamer and if you want it to cut or sail get some dirt for more spin and 4 seams....
you can take the rosin bag(laying on the mound) and put it all over you and it is legal...you can't go to the mouth on the mound(which is usually dry anyway during a game) but you can rub your forehead, forearm, neck, and adjust your jersey, all soaked with sweat, but don't touch your "dry mouth"....
any pitcher knows how to get an advantage, in Lesters case the real proof was that the cutter was breaking a foot at the last second in cool thin air, and that don't happen on the natural....so what...the minor leaguer who spotted it was just doing his job, these pro teams have a guy watching everybody to see if they give anything away...one of the hardest habits to break is infielders who lean right on a curve or inside pitch and left on a fastball or breaking ball away...
The sox played World Series ball and the cardinals didn't, thats 2 years in a row the cards will have a long winter....
