.PLEASE I repeat PLEASE don't start jacking around with the caddie. You will create other problems that you will never be able to fix. your track record of being able to fix bugs is  about  50%.

    Very generous B :-)))

My apologies if this has been mentioned in this thread already as I dont want to read pages and pages of malarky :)

Why not just do away with the auto select caddy and force us to choose a club, shot type, aim arrow etc etc etc.

If you force the player to choose everything him or herself that would eliminate the wrong (auto) shot type and what nots...

If there was 1 thing I could fix about the caddie is never pick chip.

In addition I agree with some poster here that many of the real WTF's are caused by the game not registering the club change or the spin applied.

I have added a process to my pre shot routine now where if the caddie does not give the right club, I make sure to click the change and not trust the mouse wheel.

But I also agree with many of the other posters, that fixing the caddie should be low priority.

Easiest fix is to give us an option to disable the caddie altogether.

    This one...

I skipped all the whiny posts. No doubt the player is utimately responsible for the shot and club selection, not the caddy.

Being able to fire the caddy (disable it) would be nice.

Otherwise I only have 2 issues with the caddy as it now works.

    1. From the fairway and being between 49 yards and maybe 20 yards from the green most players will want to hit something other than a pitch shot, which is often what the caddy automatically sets the shot to.

    2. When on the green, don't let the caddy reset the putt strength scale after using the chip/pitch shot mode as an aid to read a putt.

This times about a million.  I very rarely screw up because of my stupid caddy, when I do it's usually this.
