Kat, DO NOT hold your breath!

I learned last year not to hold my breath with any request made here.  Just look at the member requests that you started under Beta ... how many of those requests have been addressed? (and who asked for ambient sounds and applause?)

Anyway, as far as CC's that have some form of handicapping for their members, there are 5 courses that play to or above a 60 average.  All the others are coming in lower than 60 ... with Cabo and B of F the lowest, coming in under 58.  (Please note, I was not able to rank Pinehurst 2).

I was only able to find 36 tourneys from the "weekly single-round 18 hole tourneys" that had data from Tour Legends.

For CC's that are using 60 as a course rating to handicap your members ... for half of the courses, you're a bit too high.

I'd love to have a bit more data.  A few of the courses are hardly ever played, and others are simply just played to death.  As for Merion and Best of Hardest ... I had to use the multi-round tourneys to come up with an average.  Neither had a weekly with tour-legend scores.

Bumping this so we don't see the Blow-hards post about who has qualified for the VUSO which in all actuality he just wants everyone to know what he shot which in turn we could all give a rats ass what he shot. Freaking braggers man.

I am just saying that there will be some changes to the tiers and that we are working on a handicapping system (not sure if it will see the light of day).

Many good ideas elsewhere as you know.  BUT PLEASE do not utterly blow it with getting there by something just averaged based.  If there is one thing practically all agree it's that Beth F9 won't take anymore, and neither should it for a now very old and silly looking loophole anyway..........

Plenty of CCs do their best working around this, and some very good examples in place.  Anything you do for CCs must be good for all???

What would be nice would be to have a universal system.  There's probably 1 handicapping method in place for every 5 CC's ... and I'd guess, just as many variances.

It makes it difficult putting a "Net" CC vs. CC tourney together, when everyone has their own little handicap system.

Hopefully WGT will look into this and come up with a system that will work for everyone.

The other solution would of course be if the CC's all decided on a common handicap system - we would not need WGT to implement it...

Very true ... the only problem I see is which model does all of the CC's put into use?

Maybe we should consider a CC Owners "union"...

Not only for the handicap system issue but also to promote CC interests with WGT.

    Just a thought.....

It's a good idea ... just don't limit the union to owners ... how about owners and owner's representatives?
