Perhaps there is a difference of opinion regarding why people play WGT golf. I ONLY play for amusement. And I play on an iPad with the mobile app. I don't have slick features that show distances to bunkers or water hazards. Or cameras to show different angles. On some shots, I can't even move the marker to a spot I need to avoid a tree or see the breaks on a green.
I also (and I'm sure plenty of people are going to jump on me for complaining about losing balls in minor water hazards) have spent all of $5 on this game (only to eliminate ads). Every club I have I've bought with credits I've gotten free for clicking off videos, 2 credits at a time.
But that doesn't dismiss the fact that if a ball lands in a puddle or a little bush a yard from the fairway, if it's a Nike or other pricey ball, it's mysteriously irretrievable.
As for switching balls, I'm not wasting shots on a ball for a 900 coin game, but will if it's for 18,000 coins. My clubs are all different meter speeds, so getting used to different balls for different courses or games is not the same drawback as doing something like switching putters.
We all have our peeves with this game. Some don't like having their Consecutive Days Played wiped out. Some are disturbed by losing XP points when their opponent forfeits on the last green when they're a gimmi putt from winning. It bothers me when I have to hit a shot 20 yards short of a little creek running across the fairway because an expensive ball has some mysterious attraction to water. I'm not talking about avoiding a cliff where any ball would be lost.
Now, I'm not a golfer; but in the real game does 5 sleeves of decent balls cost more than a top quality driver; and wear out after a few rounds?
