    Robert1893:
The one that immediately comes to mind is the par 3, 13th hole at Oakmont. Every single time, I want to go at that hole location.

But a good portion of the time, I miss it right and end up in the bunker and say to myself "You dummy. Just put it out to the left of the pin, two putt, and take your par."

Just a suggestion (assuming you're talking about the long right pin), try adding about 10y to the distance (full bs) and let it roll back down to the hole. Should work with green speeds from 10 to 12.

Kind of a similar approach as #14 on Cong (long pin), except there you land short (front edge of the green), roll past the hole and then come back down. All it takes is the same power as stated distance (disregard the elevation), zero bs and aiming slightly right of the pin.

I would just like to say that if this "Game" causes any individual THAT much frustration,  Why in the world are you still even playing?  Climb in to a metal trash can and pull the lid to a closed position.  Then have a friend at the ready with a bat.  Let him/her beat it until the lid pops.  Climb back out and leave your damn whining there.  In the trash where it belongs.  Go play bingo.    ~Vinnie~

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

    Hi phred952,

First of, I really appreciate the gift. Serioulsy, you must be a trully wonderful person if you can feel empathy even on a game's forum, thanks!

About the water/ball situation. I sense now that the majority of the community shares the idea of a realisticy scenario. I don't. Just like some dude posted a few answers back, I think the penalty should remain only on the stroke, and not on the balls.

Is is an interesting discussion nonetheless because this situation trully affects the player decision on making a shot: I believe there are two possible ways of dealing with it:

    1°: If I have a brand new ball, I'll be afraid to shot near the water and risk loosing a ball, so I prefer to take a less risk shot, even if it cut down my odds of a birdie/eagle;
2°: If I have a older ball, I will push it harder to try the best shot possible, since if I make a mistake it won't matter to much.

This choise is probably defined by the familiarity level one have to the game, IRL and here. Now since I understand that this choice must be present on IRL games aswell, it should be considered on the simulation aswell.

What I think then, is that the game should consider specificities on every water hazard and give a % of chance of ball recovery, according to where you hit the ball.

Anyway, I know I revived this thread, but considering the number of answers, the debate is valid.

I apologize if I'm not making myself clear in english, and I wish you guys a good game!

    Hi Michalzeszen,

Enjoy the balls, and keep them dry (hopefully).  I'm glad that you now understand where everyone is coming from.  In the end Fatdan's advice is still the best.  So if in doubt don't try for that perfect shot.  Lay up and leave your self a good 3rd shot to be in position to pick up a birdie.

    Enjoy the game,

Better players do not go in the water much........

Speaking of which, this was the shot after I dunked a ball with less that 10 hits on it on a late click ;-)

Edit: It seems the "share replay" feature is broken, I was sent a completely wrong replay. Anyway, a 40y punch, that hit the back of the hole, then rolled back all the way to the water and dropped in it.

Despite not being amused at the time, I now find it funny that this cost me a win in a 1st round of a bracket against an obvious multi. I would've killed his -3 any other day, lol.
