You're playing a game and get to a shot near water. It's a crucial game so you put the starter balls aside and break out the 500 credit Nikes. After careful consideration you take your shot. A slight tailwind blowing away from the water hazard so you aim for the hole even though you'll be off a bit, you want to avoid the drink.
You ding your shot, so you'll be looking at a makeable putt. And then...plop!
Now, if you'd used a starter ball you'd get a 'water hazard' and lose a shot. But since that's a pricey ball, up comes the message 'Ball taken out of play.'
Come on, WGT. Why do you have to make it so I've got to hit my shot 10 yards from the hole so I don't lose it? And the fact is, if I hit the exact same shot with a starter ball, it probably would land where I aimed it, and not like there was a ball magnet sucking my expensive Nike out of play.
Do you really need the extra profit so much that you can't treat a 500 credit ball the same as a starter ball? Gimme a break!
